Autumn Louisville Skyline at Night

The autumn brings amazing colors to our sunsets here in Kentucky & Indiana. We found vibrant purples, a bright moon, spectacular clouds passing by, and of course the golden colors from our city, Louisville.

502Photos has the element of two photographers; Two creative minds – two different artistic styles, and two unique photographs. We used the same tripod, we have the same Canon 5D camera, standard lenses, took the photos on the same night and have two different images.

Compare the two. Look for the contrast and alikeness of each photo. It’s fun to take almost the same photo but when we review the finished product our high Dynamic Range (HDR) images of Louisville, though roughly the same image, turn into different photos.

Leave a comment to let us know what you think and what you find that is unique in each photo. We even take suggestions for other photo opportunities, like these, that we could entertain you with.:)

Culbertson Mansion – Literally a Haunted House

I was invited to take photos for the Culbertson Mansion Haunted House. I took the time to do a few High Dynamic Range (HDR) images of the Mansion along with some of the inside spookiness of the Haunted House attraction.

Autumn Equinox

This year at the Kentucky / Indiana border, The Autumn Equinox started off with perfectly ideal weather for photographers. We took advantage of the warm sun and cool breeze by walking the Falls of the Ohio State Park (it’s located in southern Indiana near Louisville, Kentucky).

Along with the rocks, drift-wood, fossils, water, and sunset, I found a few leaves getting a head start on the autumn colors. I used my Canon Macro to get a good close up of the larger leaf cradling the baby autumn leaflet. The contrast of the crisp autumn colors against he grey dullness of the smooth rocks was perfect for the macros lens blur.

I personally can not wait for the Orange, Red, and Yellow hues of Fall to emerge this year now that we have new equipment and techniques. Please, take time to visit the wondrous Falls of the Ohio State Park and keep your eyes open for more amazing autumn images!

Clark National Lookout

This is from atop Clark National Lookout near Henryville, Indiana. The lookout really gives you the feel of being on the highest point in the state.
