Louisville Zombie Walk

Zombies take over Highlands on Bardstown road August 29, 2012. Louisville has a kick off to the halloween season by have a huge zombie attack. This is their eighth year for attacking and it gets bigger and bigger every year from what the survivors say.

You can see any type of undead imaginable during this crazy mess of zombies and zombie killers. Sadly 502photos arrived late for the first time shooting this event & had camera flash failure…zombies have extra brains, blood and even bath salts…but no extra batteries to spare, darn. It was an amazing event though and we look forward to being better prepared next year and might have a pop up studio for awesome photos!

Here are a few photos from the Zombie Walk. If you saw the zombie press photographer you may have been captured, check out the small gallery of photos. Links are at the bottom of the blog and more images coming soon) Don’t forget to credit 502photos!

M&M (Michael & Meredith) Wedding

It’s just more fun to say “M&M” isn’t it? …Right.

Meredith got ahold of us through Jens mother, who she’d worked with. She was so excited to get married, but had this “I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do [when picking out photographers]” as most of you young brides do. No worries, we got to joking and talking, and in no time she went from unsure to fully educated in how awesome we are:)

Meredith told us that their wedding was going to be at “in beautiful Starlight Indiana” and I’ve got to say, she made a good choice. Not even stormy weather could set an overcast on their day. The venue took good care of every guest and even with a few grey clouds the photos came out clear and bright. Everyone stayed so positive and enthused, it was really refreshing.. the worst I ever heard out of anyone there was “Oh, shoot, I hope it clears up.” And Meredith (being the Meredith that I’ve come to know her as) just looks outside with this “So what! We’re doing this!” attitude, and if that isn’t the attitude it takes to make it in married life – I don’t know what is!

Meredith and Michael, we hope that everyday you’ll be as fortunate as your wedding day – to stand under storm clouds and shine on anyway! Congratulations! Enjoy your mini gallery. The link to full gallery is at the bottom!

The Big Latch On

502photos captured the ladies who joined in a breast feeding awareness day at the Binford Park in New Albany Indiana. This event is called ‘The Big Latch On’, an awareness that has become worldwide and held during “World Breastfeeding Week’, which is August 1st to the 7th.

Mothers are attempting to create a world record for the most “latched on” babies at the same time. This gives mothers who wish to breastfeed, the reassurance that it is normal. It also gives help, information and support for those parents.

We have a gallery from the photographs that day. You can also watch the coverage from WHAS11 and Wave3 News.

The links are at the bottom of this blog ; Feel free to right click and save the images, please do not crop or alter the images and we ask that you credit 502Photos in the images. There are also options to print, if you wish to have a photo printed without the watermark, get in contact with the photographers at 502Photos.

Alicia & Kris Wedding

It seems like so long ago between the time we met Kris & Alicia and now. Their Engagement session was forever ago! (Well, both of their sessions, haha) For some reason these two decide to do their sessions on the hottest days possible and their wedding day was no different. The majority of their photos were taken inside because it was far too hot outdoors. What was neat about everything being inside was that everyone who attended were condense into these close-knit moments together that gave their wedding a real family feel.

That’s the one thing I can take from this wedding – family. Kris and Alicia are from a small town (a farmer and a teacher) and they come from families that have that same small town upbringing – every thing about this wedding seemed like close knit families who knew each other and were glad to see one another, like every one knew everyone, and that this marriage just brought the close relationships even closer.

Alicia’s uncle (I believe), Mike, performed their service. We were in a room packed wall to wall of (as if they brought the whole town). From the football huddled groomsmen, to the secret handshake between the father-of-the-bride and her soon-to-be-husband. Then of course, to the moment where Alicia did that “Let me think about it” pose when she was asked if she wanted to marry Kris – there were so many moments of pure love, pure friendships, and playfulness.

There was this one perfect moment (in my not so humble opinion, haha) – where Alicia is walking down the isle.. her dad glimpses at her, Kris is staring intently – he takes a deep breath, she lets go of just a couple tears, then their eyes meet and she sees how excited he is… she just laughs and he laughs right back in return. That’s the kind of perfect thing that love is; when you’re so excited and happy it brings tears to your eyes, then it makes you laugh out loud when you realize “I’m so happy to be here with you.” Kris and Alicia, if your photographers notice that about you I’m sure everyone else sees it just the same.

The night ends with a “jam packed” (hilarious joke) family reunion, more-so than just a reception. “As two families come together please choose a seat and not a side” written on a chalk board as you enter, suggestion cards for the bride and groom, Mason jar champagne glasses, and mommas delicious Jam!!!! (I love food.. I cannot help my addictions).

You know what, I could write word for word what happened that night, but this is just the beginning to all the fun these two will have and all the family support they’ll have along the way – so I’ll leave the talkin’ to the photos. Congratulations to your family and the both of you.
P.S. Alicia, you promised us some mexican food and if I have to call a debt collector I will. 😉

Brian & Kendall Wedding

As I recall it – Kendall and Brian didn’t talk to me for quite some time… Kendall is as sly as they come and had her friend do the dirty work in finding the perfect photographers (which she was very successful in doing). So, when we finally met Kendall and Brian, I pretty much knew everything about her, what she wanted photography wise, her budget, blood type, and I knew what she did last summer (j/k).

Brian and Kendall and that incredibly quirky-fun-type and you’ll see that in their photos. Some couples make the photographers job so easy… everyone thinks it takes great photographers to get great photos (which it is.. we’re awesome, in case I forgot to mention that), but our clients that will just cut-up, have fun, let loose, and just be themselves – they’re the ones who get the best photos, the most authentic, and genuine; this wedding was entirely proof of that.

Their wedding and reception was held at 300 Spring Street (recommended). They had plenty of room for the entire night, room for the guests, room to get dressed, open bar, “photobooth” location, it really made for a lot of fun! I’ve never had to chase so many people around all over a building to consistently shoot them all!

There’s so much to say about this wedding – Jen and I had a blast the entire time. There was so much energy, playfulness, and you can just tell this couple is entirely into each other. In my infinite wisdom =) I’ve discovered that the key to being in love and staying in love, is being there for the ones you love, and to keep life fun – these two characters will have no trouble, at all. Brian & Kendall, congratulations… and not just on getting married, but on what you two have found in one another.

Other than all of that red tape, here’s the puddin':
